Mercread's Activities

Our youth clubs provide a safe, friendly space for young people in Seaford to relax, have fun, and connect with others. Open to school years 6 and above, the clubs run weekly during term time only and are free to attend. With a mix of games, activities, and opportunities to learn new skills, the clubs offer a welcoming place to make friends and enjoy time after school.

Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:30pm (School Years 8 & 9)

Young Mums

A chill space for young mums (and mums-to-be). Being a young mum isn’t easy, but you don’t have to do it on your own. Come hang out, have a drink, and meet other girls who get it.
What’s on: Real talk about life, babies & everything in between; Fun sessions & creative activities; Tips for money, housing, and parenting support; Free baby clothes and essentials; Guest visits from midwives & local services (no pressure!); Free snacks, baby-friendly space & good vibes only

Fitness Clubs

Funded by Sports England, those groups have been created to support young people who might be struggling to join sports activities.
Wednesdays 4.00 - 5.00pm (School Years 6 to 8)
Thursdays 4.00 - 5.00pm (School Years 9+)

Community Groups at Mercread

Repair Cafe / Sharing Skills CIC

Repair Cafes are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things together. You’ll find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields. On clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, toys and much more…

The Seaford Repair Cafe will be held on the 4th Saturday of each month at The Mercread Centre, Mercread Road, Seaford from 1pm → 3:30pm.

Come along and join our Community Lunch at 12pm before the Repair Cafe starts.

We are always looking for new cadets and adult volunteers to join our County. If you are a young person aged 12 or over, there is a detachment near you where new friendships and exciting new challenges await.

We are also seeking adult volunteers to join our team of dedicated instructors. No prior experience is necessary.

Parade Times: Monday, Wednesday: 1930hrs to 2130 hrs Please do not visit the detachment until you receive an email direct from the Detachment Commander NB We close to new joiners during the school, Bank Christmas holidays
