Community Rewards At Mercread Youth Centre

Empowering young people, one stamp at a time

At Mercread Youth Centre, we’re always looking for new ways to support, inspire and connect our young people with the wider Seaford community. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Community Rewards, a brand-new initiative designed to celebrate participation and build stronger local connections.

What is Community Rewards?

Community Rewards is a programme where young people earn a stamp each time they attend a Community Session, whether they’re learning something new, taking part in a workshop, or helping out. Once their card is full, they can exchange it for a reward generously offered by a local business or organisation.

The aim is simple: to give young people positive, engaging experiences while showcasing the amazing talent and support available right here in Seaford.

Local Businesses Are Already Getting Involved

A brilliant example of this is when Steve Whittemore from Whittfit Training ran a circuit session at the youth club. His energy and encouragement got our young people thinking about fitness, healthy eating, and their overall wellbeing. For many, it was their first time doing anything like it, and it made a lasting impression.

As a reward, they might now be able to claim a session at Whittfit or enjoy a discount from Stick the Kettle On, another one of our generous local partners.

How Your Business Can Get Involved

We’re calling on Seaford’s fantastic network of businesses, freelancers, and community groups to get behind the programme. There are lots of ways to take part:

  • Offer a reward – something simple like a freebie, discount, or small experience

  • Sponsor the programme – help us fund materials, resources, and outreach

  • Host a session – run a fun, informative activity for young people at the centre

  • Offer work experience – even short placements or taster sessions are valuable

  • Volunteer your time – assist during a session or share your story

You don’t need to be a fitness coach or youth expert, just someone with a skill, service, or passion to share. Every contribution makes a difference.

Join Us in Shaping Seaford’s Future

By getting involved, you’ll be directly supporting young people’s growth, confidence, and connection to their community—while also promoting your business as a force for good.
